Hawker Brownlow Education

About Us

Our Mission

"At Hawker Brownlow Education we are passionate about the education of students, and strive to produce outstanding resource materials for teachers, parents, school administrators and other professionals in education and allied fields.

Our activities include the publication of teacher resources that promote thinking, reflection and authentic assessment in the primary and secondary classroom, and encourage excellence in teaching and learning practice in schools. We also lead the way in providing innovative professional development resources and events to support the needs of teachers in the Australasian region."

Our History

In 1985 the Brownlows founded Hawker Brownlow Education as a wholly Australian-owned family company dedicated to publishing resources that address topical educational theory and issues. Our aim is to encourage innovative practice at all levels of the education system and across all key learning areas.

For over twenty years we have developed an unparalleled reputation as a specialist educational publisher and on-demand printer within the Australasian market. As a printer-publisher we have the unique advantage of printing-to-order based on demand.

Our Business

We print over 100 000 books each year. Our in-house team of editors and graphic designers work together to produce Australian editions of many internationally published titles to meet the curriculum requirements of Australian schools.

We also lead the way in providing innovative professional development resources and events to support the needs of teachers in the Australasian region. Our annual Thinking & Learning Conference, held each May, is the only event of its kind provided by an educational publisher for teachers from across Australia. We continuously strive to identify the gap in existing educational publications to deliver enhanced, innovative and truly inclusive education programs.
