Ann Ward Johnson, PhD, is an independent consultant who works extensively in schools and organizations internationally on implementing Mapping to the Core (MTTC), assessment, Curriculum 21 upgrades, and the new literacies in their curriculum. She also trains building and district leaders in using digital applications and in the development of comprehensive implementation plans. Her practical approach to design and alignment is based on her experience as a classroom teacher, associate superintendent, principal, and adjunct professor. 

She and Heidi Hayes Jacobs outline the four phases of quality curriculum design in their book The Curriculum Mapping Planner: Templates, Tools, and Resources for Effective Professional Development. Ann is also coauthor of the LivePlanner, a professional development companion to Mapping to the Core: Integrating the Common Core Standards Into Your Local School Curriculum.
