Description

Donna Bates has more than 30 years of elementary- and middle-level teaching experience. She has served as an elementary team leader, a middle-level curriculum leader, and a teacher association president. She has also been a member and leader of a number of district and state committees.

Donna earned her B.S. degree at the University of Oregon and has completed graduate-level work at Lewis and Clark College, Portland State University, and the University of Oregon. As part of her work to create differentiated learning options for students in content areas, Donna designed a program entitled “Voices of Injustice,” which the National Middle School Association recognised as one of four exemplary programs in the nation for 2001. Donna’s own personal teaching style has always centered on providing differentiated instruction for the students in her classroom, and her personal goal is to validate and support the academic achievement of all students.
