Shane Thompson


Thompson is an
educational consultant at Hawker Brownlow Education. She was previously
employed by Edith Cowan University's Child Health Promotion Research Centre as a senior research
manager. In addition to being a co-author of Friendly Schools resources, she
has helped to coordinate the development and commercialisation of the
initiative. Her work has also included marketing and training users of the
Friendly Schools resources. 

Shane obtained her Diploma in Teaching from Kuring-gai College in Sydney and later completed a Bachelor of Education through Deakin University, Victoria. She has held teaching positions at both primary and secondary schools in NSW, Victoria and Western Australia, as well as at international schools in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. From 2002–2006, Shane was owner of Unicom Education, an Australia-wide supplier of resources for children and adults with learning differences. Following the sale of the Unicom Education business to the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), Shane assisted ACER in setting up their Perth office and distribution network and led the ACER Press operation in Western Australia. Shane also sits on the board of the Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation of WA.

Shane is based in Perth. She is available to answer any questions Western Australian customers may have on CARS & STARS Plus and CAMS & STAMS Plus. She also provides professional development to schools on both these programs.
