Tessa Willy lectures in primary geography initial teacher education at the Institute of Education, University of London, UK. Prior to this she was a primary teacher in a variety of different settings across the UK and a secondary-school geography teacher in the UK as well as in Africa. Her areas of particular interest are in issues around the ethics of geography, notably climate change, sustainability, social justice and global citizenship. With staff and students at the University of Roehampton, she developed an outdoor environmental area that is used as a model in initial teacher education and continuing professional development for teachers. Tessa was the Programme Leader for the PGCE Primary course at the University of Roehampton from 2010–2012 before joining the Institute of Education.
