Veronica Boix Mansilla is principal investigator for Project Zero’s Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Project and a Bernard Schwartz Fellow at the Asia Society. Her research
examines the conditions that enable experts and young learners to produce quality interdisciplinary work addressing problems of contemporary significance. Veronica’s
research focuses on developing and nurturing an informed global consciousness among youth in North America, Wales and India. With her team, she brings together theories and
methods in cognitive psychology, epistemology, pedagogy and sociology to explore how experts, teachers and F–16 students advance interdisciplinary understanding of topics
of global signifi cance, from globalisation to climate change and bioethics.
Veronica chairs the Future of Learning Institute at Harvard and is the founder of L@titud. Veronica is the co-author of Teaching for Interdisciplinary Understanding in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (2010); Educating for Global Competence: Preparing Our Youth to Engage the World (2011); and Th e Point of Integration: Pivotal Refl ections on Quality Contemporary Interdisciplinarity (manuscript in preparation).
